Me –
After studying painting at Norwich School of Art  I spent a year as Artist in Residence at Gresham’s School in Norfolk. I completed a PGCE in art and taught art in London for 3 years while doing my own work in my spare time.  I then started a bar company with friends, designing, refurbishing and running bars and clubs in London.
After many years working I now find myself in a position where I can concentrate on my art work fully.  Moving out of London to Essex and living next to the Thames Estuary I found the inspiration I needed in the countryside to drive my work forward.

My Work
Nature has always been the starting point for my  work, now the Thames Estuary and surrounding countryside is the focal point.  I wish to convey in my paintings and prints the love I have for these places, this great river, its ever changing beauty and history.  The need I feel to protect and promote our natural world is the foundation of my subject matter.
I work mainly in  oil paint and printmaking. I enjoy the physicality of painting, building abstracted forms, textures & marks,  the working and reworking of the surface to create my response to my subject.  Printing is my idea maker, it creates time to consider and experiment, helps me to explore my subjects, shapes, mark making and mood.  The changes that occur to the image through the process are incredibly exciting and refreshing.
